I had the pleasure of serving with Alfie in the late eighties and early nineties. A loyal friend with a great sense of humour too. A good soldier but more importantly a lovely person for whom we are all richer for knowing.
Alf mate, fond memories of going bush with 16AD and on the Sub 1 in Perth. You always had a smile on your dial mate. I would say you would be the number 1 choice as the half back in the land of the gods mate. RIP Mate. To Alf's family my condolences.

Alf was firstly a work colleague but quickly became more with each opportunity to learn more from his story and life view.
We shared some confidences and experiences that build friendship too.
