I met Verral for the first time Christmas Day 2006 . We had emigrated from the UK and left our own family behind so Sharon and Steve invited us to spend the day with them .
We became part of their family and over the years and I got to know Verral well. He always made me laugh with the stories of his shenanigans , and he never held back on giving me forthright opinion , saying it as it was , he liked to shock me , ha ha ha .
Verral not only had his own grandchildren in his pool during the summer holiday but my two kids Chris and Hannah too . They have great memories of those times at Verral’s with everyone.
When I last visited Sharon and Steve , Verral was living with them . He told me during one of our chats , how proud he was of Sharon , how she was a great mum and how he enjoyed being there able to spend time with them all. He said it was great that he saw her kids everyday and how Steve cooked up a great dinner .
He lived his life to the full and will be missed everyday by his family
RIP Verral x

Grandpa, some of my favourite childhood memories were spent at your house. Summer afternoons/weekends by the pool, randomly turning up with Yolanda saying we’re staying over without telling our parents. But my favourite memory recently was you at my wedding. Just a memory of you, when you thought no one was looking absolutely pegging this little plastic crystal across the room, now you may not have started it but you definitely finished it. Rest in peace Grandpa you will be missed.

Dear Grandpa,
there is no better memory than being at your house in the summer time spent in the pool with our whole family. Me and Connor would always then rummage through your freezer to find your skinny cow ice creams and indulge in at least 2 or 3 and I don’t think you ever said no to us, although maybe it’s because you didn’t turn your head from the tv screen when the footy was on haha I would have to say my absolute favourite memory is when you bought those parrots or lorikeets or budgies whatever they were haha and we used to let them fly around the living room. They would always have babies yet they never lived more than few weeks old and I wasn’t sure if it was your parenting or theirs haha thank you for these memories grandpa I’ll forever cherish them. Goodbye for now but not forever xx

Dear Grandpa,
I’ll never forget your funny nickname for me, your freezer loaded with our favourite ice creams when we would all spend the summers in your pool with our cousins. The times you’d teach me to reverse park terribly, in the green well point carpark and the harrods teddys you’d buy us. I remember the times jard and I would hack your computer when you were asleep to talk to very questionable people on the internet haha and that time jayde drank too much Baileys and spent the night hugging your toilet bowl. Just wanted to remind you that your cake mix is about 20 years out of date. Rip grandpa love Stephy xx

Dear Grandpa,
I remember when I was little my first memory was getting teddy bears from you when you lived in Dampier. I’m pretty sure we had a budgie named Dampier too. I remember swimming with all my cousins in your pool, they were the best days. I even had my 17th birthday party at your house. Let’s try to forget about what happened when I turned 18, haha. I remember you teaching me to drive. I swear I was the best at reversing because you made me constantly completely drive around the whole showground in reverse. And when getting my hours up we would drive everywhere. My favourite place that will always remind me of you is when we would come down over the Gerroa hill to see 7 Mile beach and you would say Just look at that view, that’s a beautiful view, every time we drove that way. When I got my P’s you let me borrow your car whenever I needed it too. Fast forward, once I moved away whenever I came home to visit, you were always good for a chat and were always so delighted to see me. It has brought me incredible joy to hear that towards the end you put your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, your eternity is secure in heaven! So this is just goodbye for now, I’ll see you when I get there. Thanks for everything Grandpa, love Jaydee xoxo

R.I.P Grandpa, I will forever cherish the times spent at your house with the whole family, all of us kids having a ball in the pool and swimming for hours. The Easter egg hunts that were hosted at your place were always the best! You would always be so excited to see us and the first to slip us some pocket money even if mum said it was unnecessary.
I will miss you grandpa,
Love Indi x

When I started at the HMAS Albatross Demons footy team in '78, Verral was our full forward. We played in the '78 Premiership team together. I inherited full forward from him. I will never forget after a game where I'd taken what I regarded as being a 'Verral Clark speccy'. He had retired and was in the crowd. He came up to me, put his arm around my shoulders and said something like "Good to see you did learn something from me!" Of course my reply was likely "Piss off Verral!" He was paying me a compliment...in his typically rascally way. He really was, in every way, larger than life and so popular with all in the club. Always having a laugh! I know he will slot straight into full forward in the great team upstairs, start taking those speccies again and booting a bag full. I always aspired to be as good as him...
