A lifetime ago in the 60’s, we became friends – not close, but near enough to always be delighted to hear news of you. I clearly recall you playing clarinet with the Jazz Mavericks, driving to the snow at Perisher in your classic MG TC (and almost freezing), being at the Swagman in Perisher, and in much later years, skiing with you and Fran in St Anton. I admired your ability and prowess as Captain and Master of your yacht and chartered voyages, sailing across many oceans and visiting many continents. Your love of the sea, and Fran’s devotion as wife and Best Mate never faltered with age. I salute you Nobbs as you set sail on your last and final voyage
