As a man of almost three score and ten I have been fortunate to have a lot of acquaintances that fall into classifications of friends, mates, good mates and great mates.
Thirty something years ago a family of Westies moved in next door and proved to be the noisiest, loudest, irreverent and most lovable family you could imagine.
Within 20 minutes Patrick had gotten me deep in the shit with Susan by Geeing her up and laughing behind my back as he threw shadow punches. His ability of getting me deep has been a point of great humour since then for everyone but me.
During our family friendship we have lost old ones and more sadly young ones on both sides. These moments of devastating loss have made our friendship stronger and stronger.
Now my bestest ever mate has left us I have to re-evaluate my life and my goals.
We have become a quasi-family and despite your leaving we will remain strong and supportive for those you love.
