'Stainless' was generous. We took the folks, here from Boston, to visit friends in Binalong. When Robbie met them, he invited us all to dinner - roast turkey! The roaring fire, the drinks, the stories! The wood oven struggled and Robbie entertained. Turkey at midnight - best ever! Remembered fondly. Graham and Liz

Dear Rob! One of the first people I met when I arrived in Sydney in January 1988. Such a pleasure and an honour to work with him, and get to know him further as the years passed. Probably the only person in the world to have called me "Mate", which is how he addressed me at Marie's last gathering. Lots of memories. Kindness and loyalty. Unforgettable. Godspeed, Rob. Stainless old mate,haven’t seen you for a while and now you’ve checked out way too soon.We did a few movies together and more recently H&A.I don’t know how many hours we spent telling lies in the Strand Hotel in the 70s & 80s. I’m sure you’re up there now blowing the froth off one with Hunter & McNeil etc. You were a great character and a bloody good bloke.Condolences to your family. Ray Meagher

Robbie was the best mate to Dad for many, many years. Dad will miss him, like a brother, forever. I have a beautiful memory of Robbie, patiently teaching me as a little girl to make damper with honey on a visit to Binalong. Our condolences to the entire family. Robbo was my best mate when we were young. We went to primary and high schools together and were in many school productions.. We have been mates since 1954. He came to my 50th birthday and my wife and I went to his 50th in Binalong. He was the Best Man at our wedding.. We are unable to attend on June 1st but we send our condolences, RIP Robbo . We will always remember you. David and Jan North

RIP my old fried Stainless...... Sure did have some great times in Binalong with you and some of your very eccentric lovely friends at dinner parties at yours that I will never forget. The wonderful Plays in the Mechanics Institute with the whole town taking part, either on stage performing or being a very happy well entertained audience. You certainly brought some excitement and great memories to our little town.

I just want to send condolences from Aaron and I. Or though we only met Rob for a short time over a late night trip to Nowra to get Karen, I had a delightful time and know Rob will be deeply missed by all of his family. May he be up there making everyone smile and laugh like he did to us.
